Applications are invited for the post of StoryFutures Data Technician in the Media Arts Department.
This post will be a key role in delivering StoryTrails, an exciting new immersive storytelling experience as part of Unboxed: Creativity in the UK. It will make use of archives to explore our past, present, and future, and will be a project of national prominence with events taking place in 15 different towns and cities across the UK.
As a Data Technician, you will be the key link in managing data across an exciting array of VR, AR, and large screen immersive experiences. You will support, train and enable others in the team – including 50 diverse emerging creatives – to work with an iterative production cycle that includes working with BBC and BFI archive, the latest in lidar scanning technology, and cutting-edge location systems.
You will need a strong understanding of data management in creative media production, preferably on interactive or immersive productions, great attention to detail and organizational skills, strong technical abilities in codecs, file management systems, and audio/video production software. The project will predominantly use Frame.IO, Adobe Suite, Dropbox, Scaniverse, and SketchFab for production workflows to different media outputs.
