StoryFutures Academy is delighted to launch a partnership scheme with BBC Three to bring six production companies together with technologists to help create innovative new ways to entertain audiences and let viewers escape from the stress and pressures of the modern world.

From Oculus Rift to 360, Snapchat Filters to Magic Leap, technology is providing creative and immersive ways to reach audiences, and innovation to BBC Three's output. This scheme will bring six production companies together with technologists to help create innovative new ways to entertain audiences and let viewers escape from the stress and pressures of the modern world.

Across a two-day workshop, six production companies will discover and experience the latest technologies in immersive storytelling. Armed with what they’ve learnt, each will be asked to devise ideas for entertaining, broad-appeal immersive experiences that could fit the BBC Three brand/enhance the BBC Three brand experience.

From sharable AR experiences to entertaining VR activity simulators or 360 factual entertainment formats, we want to explore content ideas that utilise and incorporate existing platforms and technologies. The ultimate goal is to shortlist up to three ideas for a period of paid development and project scoping, before choosing one idea to fund the build of a prototype.

Interested indies must have previous experience of successfully delivering broad appeal entertainment or factual entertainment content for BBC Three, or for 16-34 audiences, on time and within budget. Experience of building digital products is not required, as the chosen companies will be partnered with a leading digital agency.
