StoryFutures Academy presents: Masterclass with Mohen Leo, VFX Supervisor & Narrative Designer, ILMxLAB

StoryFutures Academy presents a Masterclass with ILMxLAB's Mohen Leo on their narrative development process and philosophy.

ILMxLAB explores the unique opportunities and challenges of creating stories for immersive media. This Masterclass provides an insight into ILMxLAB's narrative development process and philosophy, using the example of the episodic VR story Vader Immortal.

About Mohen Leo:

Mohen Leo has worked for many years in the visual effects industry, first as a digital artist on films like “The Perfect Storm”, “Pearl Harbor” and “The Matrix Reloaded”. Later, as visual effects supervisor, he led work on projects including “Speed Racer”, “2012” and “Transformers: Age of Extinction”.

From 2009 to 2012, Leo worked at ILM Singapore as Studio Supervisor, overseeing the expansion of ILM’s first Asian studio. Following that, he joined ILM London as visual effects supervisor on “Ant-Man”, “The Martian”, “Deepwater Horizon” and, most recently, “Rogue One”, for which Leo received Academy Award and BAFTA nominations.

In 2017 Leo returned to San Francisco as Director of Experience Development for ILMxLAB, Lucasfilm's immersive entertainment studio, where he also functioned as narrative designer on "Vader Immortal", an interactive VR story.

Filmed in London, January 2020
